The C. S. Brown Regional Cultural Arts Center in Winton,
North Carolina was established to preserve the multiethnic
heritage of Northeastern North Carolina and enhance the
quality of life in the community through the visual and
performing arts. The organization is housed in historic
Brown Hall, part of the campus of Chowan Academy, a school
for black youth founded in 1886 by Calvin Scott Brown. The
10,000 square-foot facility includes an auditorium, an archive,
an antique classroom, seminar and dining rooms and a kitchen.
The Center also has a collection of West African and African
American artifacts.

West into Winton. Stay on 158 West to Main St. Take a right
onto Main St. and go two blocks. The C. S. Brown Center
is on your left.
From the West:
Take US-158 into Winton. Cross US-13 and continue to the
next stop sign. Make a right onto Main Street. Go two blocks.

From the South. Take
US-13 into Winton. Take at right at the intersection of
US-13 and US-158. Take 158 to Main St. Take a right onto
Main St. and go two blocks. The C. S. Brown Center is on
your left.
From the East: Take
US-45/US-3 into Winton.
